The group is made up of mostly patients and a Trust representative

The Meetings are confidential. When information needs to be passed back to ABM University Health Board, it is anonymised to maintain patient confidentiality. Minutes of each meeting are taken and held securely. During setting up of the group we nominated the Clinical Nurse Manager of the Clinic as the Trust Representative.

The former Swansea NHS Trust, has adopted our approach to organising a Public & Patient Involvement group and have also forwarded the format of our group to the Health Committee, National Assembly for Wales as a proposed template for all PPI groups throughout Wales. We aim to give every patient a voice in how the clinic is run and how we can effect change.

Established August 2006

The Group was established in August 2006 and has now met over10 times, since we started. Initially we met monthly to set up the group with a "terms of reference" and a confidentiality document.

Other ABM University Health Baord Policies & procedures where adopted .i.e Health and Safety as well as Violence & Aggression
